Hon Rom is the name of a small wild mountain located in Long Son hamlet, Mui Ne ward, Phan Thiet. Visitors should go to Hon Rom in the early morning or late afternoon to watch the sunrise and sunset. This is also an ideal campsite to camp camp fire at night or watch the stars. Clusters of beaches in Hon Rom smooth waves, no reefs and clear blue water, you can ask for directions to Rom 1, Hon Rom 2 or Thuy Trang beach to swim.





This is a beach located on the way from Phan Thiet to Mui Ne and opposite Sea Links Resort. No one knows where its name comes from. However, it is sure that this name is chosen because of a rock with the shape of Ong Dia (the spirit of the earth) sitting and overlooking the land. This stone is naturally formed. At first, some residents here supposed this “Ong Dia” is the gift from the god; therefore, they built a shrine so that people could come here to pray for luck and successful business. This is also an ideal place where foreigners play extreme sports like windsurfing and surfing.




Hon Ghenh is also known as Hon Lao, this place is about 1 km from Mui Ne and quite pristine. To get to Hon Ghenh, you can rent fishing boats or take a shuttle service from the resort or hotel.

Early in the morning you can come here to fish, then go scuba diving to see the coral, the evening is the best time to watch the sunset and sunset at sea.




20 kilometers from Phan Thiet to the south, Ke Ga Headland has rocks formed into a variety of incredible shapes which arouse guests’ curiosity. Although more and more hotels and resorts are built, Ke Ga Headland still remains its own wild, idyllic rustic and natural beauty with clumps of poplars and incredibly strange marble slab.



Do not forget to come over Dien Headland which is around 500 meters from the sea shore when you visit Ke Ga Headland. The lighthouse on the Dien Headland is designed by a French architect named Chnavat. It is famed for the tall and oldest lighthouse in South East Asia.



7 kilometers from Phan Thiet City, Poshanu Cham Towers are perched on Ba Nai Hill. This is one of the remained relics of Champa Kingdom. Despite of its small shape, it is the essence of Cham people’s art. Visiting this place, you can feel the majesty and mystery of these towers.





Ta Cu Mountain is located close to the national highway 1A, in Ham Thuan Nam Town (Ham Thuan Nam District), 30 kilometers south of Phan Thiet. If you are adventurous and healthy, you can conquer the mount of over 1000 stairs. There is also a second option, tourists can use the cable system to reach the top of the mountain within 15 minute with the price: 60.000 VND/person/one way. On the mountain, there are 2 famous pagodas which are Linh Son Truong Tho and Long Doan. The focal point of the mountain is the spectacular Southeast Asia’s largest statue of Buddha which extends for 49 meters. Then, some tourists continue exploring the cave with the legend of enlightened beings who comes to Pure Land here, Founder Cave.




Van Thuy Tu Temple is the largest and oldest whale temple in Phan Thiet, displaying skeletal remains of whales, fishing boats, conical hats, and authentic artefacts from the Nguyen Dynasty. Built in 1762 to commemorate Ca Ong (Lord Whale), locals believe that whales are benevolent creatures that protect fisherman from bad weather and the dangers at sea. Today, this small temple houses the skeletal remains of more than 500 whales that are over 100 years old, including a 22-metre long whale skeleton that’s believed to have been the biggest in Southeast Asia. Numerous artefacts from the Nguyen Dynasty are also displayed within the main hall of the temple, such as written decrees by 24 former kings, terracotta statues, incense table, lacquered boards, and an antique bronze bell.



Religious ceremonies such as Spring Festival, Whale Worshipping Festival, and Peace Prayer Ceremony are held at the temple every year, where locals gather and pray for smooth sailing, good weather and fishing harvest. Visitors can also expect an array of activities such as solemn rites, folk singing, and boat racing during these events. A must-visit for history buffs and travellers looking to experience traditional Cham rituals, Van Thuy Tu Temple is a 15-minute drive from Phan Thiet Beach. In Mui Ne, if you would like to walk on the golden-bright sand dunes then you should choose the time between 6 – 8 am or between 4 – 5 pm. Surfing is a surface water sport in which the wave rider does not use any other types of equipment except a surfboard. On the 2-meter surfboard, surfer rides on the forward or deep face of a moving wave and sail by his or her own hands to the wave which carries the surfer towards the shore; at that time, surfer stands up and use their skills to control the board to surf on the wave.
